April 2021 The employee works closely with the Interpretation and Education staff to serve local school staff and children to accomplish the park's educational and resource management goals and objectives as well as assisting teachers in using the park as an outdoor classroom to meet state standards. The position also provides support and staffing assistance for community outreach events and programs. The incumbent is required to wear the National Park Service Uniform. Duties:
Researches, develops and presents education programs about park resources as assigned. Serves as an instructor for school visits to the park and for school classroom visits. Provides education programs, leading walks and hikes throughout the park. Incumbent will answer queries from students, teachers and the general public regarding park resources and education programs. Maintains and inventories Education Program supplies, materials, and equipment. The incumbent is responsible for safeguarding government property. Prepares equipment for use and for storage at the end of the season. To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
presenting environmental educational programs to varied groups of individuals; coordinating special events, speaker programs, and teacher workshops; designing and producing information and education displays, packets, brochure, newsletters, websites, and other media. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least a full four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. For example, I have an equivalent combination of specialized experience and undergraduate coursework that when combined equal at least 100% of the minimum qualification requirement. For example, I have 6 months of specialized experience (50% of the experience requirement), combined with three (3) years of college study (90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours). NOTE:
Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement). One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. You must include transcripts. Volunteer
Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies. No additional credit is given for overtime. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
