Major areas of responsibility include:
Water Treatment and Distribution:
Waste water Collection and Treatment; Street Maintenance; Engineering Services; Sanitation; Fleet Maintenance for all City Vehicles; Forestry Management; City Facility Maintenance; Railroad Maintenance; and Mapping with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
SUMMARY Utility Workers perform a variety of semiskilled and skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of public works facilities.
An employee in this position is responsible for working as a member of a crew on street, water and sewer projects and may work independently on selected jobs.
May provide supervision to temporary employees.
The position will be hired as a Utility Worker I or II depending on the candidate's qualifications.

00AM-4:
30PM and will be subject to 24-hour call out, 7 days a week in the event of emergencies.
KEY QUALITIES Experience with hand tools, power tools, and the operation of light and heavy construction equipment.
Knowledge of general construction practices and safety precautions.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform heavy manual labor in sometimes adverse weather conditions.
Ability to learn operations related to water, sewer and streets.
PAY Utility Worker I $23.
01-27.
97 per hour.
Utility Worker II $25.
49-30.
98 per hour.
Pay rate will be dependent on experience.
